Tuesday 23rd April a.m.
Chilly morning with a temperature of 7°C as I walked alongside the Leeds- Liverpool canal starting at Riddlesden. The bird breeding season is well underway with both Mallard chick's and Greylag chick's on the canal this morning. A good selection of other birds were seen including Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Goldcrest, Swallow, Oystercatcher, Grey Heron and Pheasant.

Saturday 20th April a.m.
Chilly morning with a temperature of 3°C in the sunshine, Willow Warblers were singing as were a couple of Wrens. The Swallow numbers are increasing, others seen were Blue Tit, Jay, Mistle Thrush, Goldfinch and Pied Wagtail.

Thursday 18th April a.m.
A frosty overcast morning with a start temperature of 3°C as I started my walk alongside the River Wharfe. A Common Sandpiper was my first bird shortly followed by half a dozen noisy Oystercatchers and a Redshank. Walking through Strid Wood five Pied Flycatchers were seen as well as Nuthatch, Treecreeper, Chaffinch and Song Thrush. On the River there were Goosander and Mandarin with a Dipper looking on and a Grey Wagtail flying down stream. Others seen were Sand Martin, Greylag, Pied Wagtail and a Green Woodpecker was heard.

Sunday 14th April a.m.
The early morning sunshine was replaced with more cloud and some light showers with a temperature of 11°C. Plenty of birds on the reserve with a Common Sandpiper one of the highlights along with two Shelduck. Sand Martin & Swallows were over the water, a Great Crested Grebe& two Little Grebe were seen. Others were Gadwall, Cetti's Warbler, Kestrel, Chiffchaff, Greenfinch, Cormorant, Grey Heron, Oystercatcher, Teal & Lapwing.

Sunday 14th April a.m.
A sunny morning at Yeadon Tarn where the temperature was 8°C, here there was a good count of 32 Mute Swans. Over the water there were House Martins, Sand Martins and Swallows, both Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers were seen singing. Others seen were Reed Bunting, Cormorant, Canadas and Moorhen.
