Leeshaw Reservoir

Saturday 29th June a.m.
 The morning started foggy at home but as I drove out of the village and got to higher ground the sun was out with a temperature of 15°C at Leeshaw. Here I started off with a Little Owl on a Telegraph pole at the side of the track.A couple of Grey Wagtails were nearby and there were four Oystercatchers plus c50 Lapwings in the fields. Canadas and Greylags were at the other side of the reservoir and a Grey Heron was hunting at the edge of the water.

Lister Park

Sunday 23rd June a.m.
 An overcast morning with a temperature of 14°C at Lister Park where there were c150 Canadas looking as though they were going through their moult , there was also 35 Greylags. The usual Mallards, Tufteds, Coots and Moorhens were present with five Herring Gulls keeping a watchful eye.
Elsewhere in the Park there were several Blackbirds, a couple of juvenile Robins and good to get a male Blackcap, a first for me at this site.

Lister Park 23/6/2019

Redcar Tarn

Saturday 22nd June a.m.
A bright sunny morning with a temperature of 14°C up at Redcar Tarn where it was a quiet visit.Just a few Gulls, the normal Mallards, one with four chicks, Coots were still nesting and a juvenile Pied Wagtail was on the island.A Kestrel hovered briefly in the distance and a Curlew flew over,a couple of House Martins and the same number Swallows flew low over the water.

Redcar Tarn 22/6/2019

Harold Park & Park Dam

Sunday 16th June a.m.
 After some early morning sunshine it soon clouded over and produced a few showers during the morning, when I arrived at Harold Park the temperature was 11°C.A Great Crested Grebe was busy feeding its chick, a mallard had twelve chicks and there were several broods of Coot chicks at different ages. A pair of Mute Swans had five Cygnets, others here were Canadas, Moorhen, Tufteds and Swift.
 Down the road at Park Dam there was a pair of Great Crested Grebes feeding two chicks, a Little Grebe was seen, others were Coot,Swallow, House Martin and Tufteds.

Harold Park 16/6/2019

St Ives

Saturday 15th June a.m.
 A bright sunny start to the morning with a temperature of 13°C at the Coppice Pond on the St Ives Estate near Harden.It was good to see a pair of Mute Swans with five Cygnets, others on the water were Coots,Moorhen,Mallards and  a pair of Tufteds. A Cuckoo was calling fairly close by as I decided to take a walk through the wood to the Golf course at the top of the estate.On the way seeing Robins, Blackbirds, Song Thrush, Blue Tit, Nuthatch, Treecreeper and hearing Chiffchaff.
 At the top of the estate the land opened up and across the fields I saw Lapwings, Pied Wagtail, Swallow and Chaffinch.At the edge of the wood a GSW was showing well as it began to cloud over and feel cooler.I made my way back down to the Coppice Pond where there were now fifteen Canadas. I paid a visit to the hide which came up trumps after a long lean spell with a GSW on the feeders.
