Saturday 19th October a.m.
A dull morning with some showers gradually brightening up with a temperature of 10°C on arrival at Dowley Gap.I had a walk along the canal and in to Hirst Wood by the River Aire, quiet on the whole bird wise but a fly past by a
Kingfisher along the canal was a highlight. At the waterworks there were the usual
Pied Wagtails, just nine seen, these numbers will increase as we head through Winter.Other birds seen included
Grey Wagtail, Mute Swan, Goosander, Jay, Long-tailed Tit, Dunnock, Robin, Grey Heron, Goldfinch and
Wren.
