Sunday 23rd August a.m.
A sunny morning with a start temperature of 13°C, a good number of birds on Astley Lake, it was good to see a Spoonbill, Great White Egret & Little Egret. The noise of Geese in the distance soon grew as c500 came over the Lake and above me, a wonderful sight to see. Others here included Cormorant, Grey Heron, Teal, Shoveler, Snipe, Lapwing & Common Sandpiper. Moving around the site were Common Terns some were seen with juveniles, overhead were a couple of Swift, a Bittern was also seen. Others were Gadwall, Pochard, Linnet & Reed Bunting, Cetti's Warblers were heard,
