Yeadon Tarn

Sunday 5th October a.m.
A chilly start to the day with a temperature of 5°C on our arrival but some early morning
sunshine which  is now low in the sky as we are in Autumn. The leaves are turning golden brown
on the trees with many already fallen to the ground. The Tarn held good numbers of birds, these
were Mallards,BH Gulls,Mute Swans,Gt C. Grebe,Tufted Duck,Moorhen & Coots.There were
others in the trees around the Tarn including a charm of Goldfinch,House Sparrow,Dunnock,
Blue Tits,Greenfinch,Collared Dove & other common species.A pleasant walk around the Tarn with plenty birds seen with the notable exception of Canadas, with the airport close by they can be a nuisance if their numbers get too high.
