Sunday 24th March a.m.
A bright sunny morning with a start temperature of 7°C at Swillington where the first bird heard was a Chiffchaff which wasalso seen. Many Cetti's Warblers were heard but I only spotted one of them, also good to see four Black-necked Grebes. There were c20 Sand Martins flying around, Bitterns were booming and a Water Rail was seen briefly. Others included Cormorant, Little Grebe, Gt Crested Grebe, Gadwall, Kestrel, Pochard, Shoveler and Reed Bunting.
