A cold frosty start with a temperature of 1°C on our arrival at Lister Park this
morning. Among the usual Mallards,Coots,Moorhen,Canadas & Tufted Ducks
was a large number of Greylags. There was a large number of BH Gulls & Common
Gulls & another Juvenile Gull which I think was a LBB Gull, will have to study the
picture a bit more & add it to this post later. Also on our arrival there was a Grey
Heron fishing being watched by the Canadas & after walking round the lake we
caught sight of a drake Goosander. I spotted a Coot with a red & white ring on its
leg but couldn't read it & it jumped into the water before I could get a good snap of
it.We saw some Mistle Thrushes up in the wooded garden area along with other
common species.
It has also been good to here a Tawny Owl calling in the village early in the morning
for a few times over the past week.
