Roberts Park,Saltaire

Saturday February 9th a.m.
We moved from Dowley Gap to Roberts Park in Saltaire which is dominated by Salts Mill.
Here we were just a mile or so downstream by the River Aire and the Leeds-Liverpool canal
continues through here with the addition of the railway following the valley bottom. We crossed
the canal seeing Mallards,Greylags & a Drake Mandarin which posed for a picture very well.
On the roof of the mill were Feral Pigeons & BH Gulls as well as good numbers of them by the
river, also in the river was a Grey Heron.Further along we saw Redwing,Robin & other common
species. We walked back along the river seeing a Cormorant fly over with Mallards,Moorhen &
Coot in the river.
