Sunday 26th February a.m.
An overcast morning with a temperature of 6°C as we went to the pond area where there were
c300
BH Gulls. There were large numbers of
Canadas and
Mallards, and
Tufted Ducks. The
Bar-headed
Goose was still present along with
Coots,Moorhens and it was good to see the return of four
Goosander two male and two female. We carried on walking round the Park seeing thousands of
Crocuses flowering, walking past Cartwright Hall we saw a good bronze statue of a Stag. We first
heard a
Greenfinch with their distinctive call and then we saw it high in a tree, we saw a
Treecreeper
again and a
Jay flew into a large tree with all its leaves on, maybe an Olive, so no chance of getting a
a better view. A couple of
Mistle Thrush went past cackling as they went and a
Wren Briefly broke
cover, there were
Blackbirds,Chaffinch,Robin,Blue Tits,LT Tits,Woodpigeons and
Corvids also on show.
