Swillington Ings

 Sunday 25th September a.m.

A cloudy start to the morning with a temperature of 9°C but soon warming up later with a bit of sunshine. As usual plenty of birds here with three Great White Egrets and a Spoonbill on the Astley Lake with  a Reed Bunting where you would expect it to be.  Several Snipe were seen and nine Black-tailed Godwits plus the bonus of a Ruff.  Others seen included Dunlin, Kingfisher, Lapwing, Gadwall, Shoveler, Teal and Wigeon.
