Redcar Tarn

 Friday 16th December a.m.

A cold frosty morning in the sunshine up at Redcar Tarn with a temperature of -4°C and 95% of the water frozen. There were c100 Canadas when I arrived but these flew off in small groups, probably  looking for somewhere to  graze. Others were BH Gulls, Common Gulls, Coots, Rooks, Dunnock, Robin and Pied Wagtail.

Swillington Ings

 Sunday 30th October a.m.

A cloudy morning with grey skies and a temperature of 12°C at Swillington Ings making any Photography very difficult.  I was soon rewarded with an Osprey which came close over Astley Lake, others here were Stonechat, Cormorant, Lapwing and Great Crested Grebe.  As I moved around the reserve there were c300 Golden Plover flying above the Reedbeds, a Great White Egret flew across in the distance as did a Red Kite.  Others seen were Kestrel, Grey Heron, Shoveler, Snipe, Pochard, Gadwall and Teal.

Lister Park

Sunday 10th October a.m.

A beautiful sunny morning with a temperature of 10°C as I walked round the lake at Lister Park.  There were thirty Tufteds and with the Autumn colour of the leaves reflected on the water they made for some picturesque shots with the camera. Plenty of BH Gulls with a LBB Gull perched on a statue as well as the Canadas, Coots, Moorhens and Mallards. Other seen were Jay, Robin and plenty Grey Squirrels.

Redcar Tarn

 Saturday 8th October a.m.

A mixture of drizzle and sunshine meant there was a rainbow up at Redcar Tarn this morning with a temperature of 10°C.  The number of BH Gulls is rising but only a few LBB Gulls with Canadas and Greylags in the surrounding fields.  There were several Lapwings and a Grey Heron was fishing ,also a brief appearance by a Pied Wagtail.
