Swillington Ings

Sunday 10th July a.m.

A beautiful sunny morning with an early start temperature of Swillington Ings of 16°C where there were BH Gulls every where many of this years chicks growing well.  Good to see the Black-necked Grebe six or so all at distance and the Common Terns are always a pleasure to see.  There was a family of eight Bearded Tits showing well and  I managed some pictures of them too.  Plenty others to see including Little Egret, Shoveler, Gadwall, Pochard, Tufted, Kestrel, Oystercatcher, Lapwing, Reed Bunting, Gt Crested Grebe and Swift.

Redcar Tarn

Thursday 2nd June a.m.

A sunny morning with a temperature of 9°C with 25 Swifts feeding over a nearby field and 15 House Martins collecting mud for their nest building. A pair of Oystercatchers were busy feeding their chicks, I spotted two chicks through the grass, a couple of Canadas had some growing goslings. On the water their were some Mallards with chicks and a Terrapin was basking on a rock.
