Saturday 11th July a.m
Some reasonable weather at long last meant I could go for a walk round Hewenden Reservoir with sunny spells and a start temperature of 9°C. On arrival at the viaduct there were twenty
Swifts flying around, the reservoir held
Canadas, Mallards, a couple of
Cormorants made a brief visit and an
Oystercatcher was later seen on the banking.
As I walked round Warbles were busy feeding young, I saw
Blackcap, Whitethroat, Willow Warbler and a
Chiffchaff was singing. A juvenile
Robin was thinking about tucking in to a worm,
Goldfinches had juveniles with them and a solitary
Greenfinch was seen. Others were
Grey Heron, Swallow, House Martin, and a family of
Wrens.
