Saturday 6th August a.m.
A sunny start to the morning with a temperature of 14°C as I headed through Denholme Clough towards Doe Park Reservoir. It was a fairly quiet walk to the Reservoir with the main birds of note being Grey Wagtail, House Martin, Swallow, Whitethroat and Willow Warbler. The Reservoir water level was well down with Canadas grazing on the exposed ground, a Grey Heron flew by them, a Common Sandpiper flew across the water and a Cormorant and three Oystercatchers were near the water.
My journey back was much more fruitful starting off with a juvenile Green Woodpecker flying in to a nearby tree where it blended in almost being invisible. Further along a couple of Jays flew past and Goldfinch were on the Thistle seeds, then I saw a Redstart land in a nearby tree and a short distance away I saw a Spotted Flycatcher.
