Sunday 2nd April a. m.
A dull cloudy start to the morning with a temperature of 6°C as I walked alongside the canal at Dowley Gap. There were 10 Greylags at the side of the canal, as I walked across the viaduct a Chiffchaff was singing which I spotted a while later. In to Hirst wood there were 4 Jays seen, a GSW was drumming and there were a few Nuthatches and was able to ID a Swallow with several other hirundines flying above the wood. On thr River Aire there was a Mandarin, others seen were Gt Tit, Wren, LT Tit & Robin.
