Cold Edge and Ogden

Saturday mid morning.
After my early trip to Oxenhope travelled round to Cold Edge Dams where I was
pleased to see another Oystercatcher,a pair of Lapwings and 4 Greylag Geese.
Also in a nearby field were around 40 Geese mainly Canada and a Curlew, what a good
morning so far.
Moved on to Ogden Water, plenty of Mallards and Canada Geese in and out of the water.
Elsewhere Great Tits were making use of the feeder along with a Dunnock below. In a
tree near the car park was what looked like a Brambling. No sign of the Goldeneye yet will
have to try another day, but can't complain about todays sightings.

Early Trip to Oxenhope

Saturday March 19th a.m.
It was a bright sunny start to the day although a little chilly about 4°C.
Got to Oxenhope early and was rewarded by seeing some Oystercatchers for the first time.
There were two on the wall I also saw one in a nearby field.
There were about 6 Lapwings flying about in nearby fields. Another first as I also
caught sight of two Curlews feeding in a nearby field, a really good start to my day.

Trips to St. Ives and Oxenhope

Monday 14th March 15:45 to 16:30 at St.Ives.
After a cold frosty morning it turned into a bright sunny day around 8°C.
Went to St. Ives and saw amixture of birds incuding a couple of Robins
and Magpies. There were around 20 Canada Geese, Mallards, Gulls, a

couple of Moorhens and 6 Coots.Even what looks like a Farmyard Goose.

17:15 to 18:00 Oxenhope.

We moved across to Oxenhope where there were more Canada Geese,

Mallard Ducks and a couple of Gulls on the water.We also caught sight of

a couple of Lapwings in the nearby fields.

Visit to Ogden Water

Saturday 12th March 9am - 10:30am
Chilly overcast morning 5°C but dry. Went to Ogden Water and walked
round the lake. Saw quite a few different birds, Tits,Robins,Blackbird,
Thrush,Magpie,Crow and on the water Canada Geese,Gulls and Mallard
Ducks.A suprise on the way home as we caught sight of some Waxwings
in Denholme.

Cold frosty dawn

Tuesday 8th March 2011, 06:45am
It was a cold frosty start this morning as dawn broke around -1°C.
Took a picture of the sunrise and one looking at Cullingworth.
Went into the garden last night at 18:56pm to look up at the Space
Shuttle and Station as they quickly passed over Bradford low in the sky
to the SouthWest. Although only appeared as two small spots of light
and couldn't get a picture it was great to see them pass overhead.

Trip to Leeming Reservoir near Oxenhope

Sunday 6th March 09:30-10:30
Took a drive round this morning & stopped at Leeming Reservoir near Oxenhope.
On our way saw a number of Crows and 4 Magpies. At the Reservoir there
were a couple of Geese, Canada Geese,Mallard and some Gulls.
When I got back home I took a picture of our Crocuses which are now
flowering.Turned bright and sunny this afternoon.

St Ives and woods Harden

Saturday 5th March 10:00 till 11:45am
Cold overcast morning around 4°C at St Ives we saw Canada Geese,Gulls,
Mallards,Coots and Moorhens. I also caught sight of a Blackbird and a
Robin.

We then moved onto the woods at Harden where we walked up to the
waterfall. On the way we saw a few different birds including Thrush,
Crows, Chaffinch and Blue Tits.
