Lister Park

Sunday 10th April a.m.

 The frosty mornings keep coming but the sunshine gives a feel good factor but not so many birds on the lake at Lister Park with a temperature of 3°C.  Here there were just a few Canadas, Greylags, Mute Swans and Tufteds, but c40 Herring Gulls at the edge of the Lake.  Also hard going in the rest of the Park a Mistle Thrush and a pair of Nuthatch doing a courtship display, others were Robin, Jay, LT Tit, Wren and Chaffinch.

Leeming

Saturday 9th April a.m.

 I later went to Leeming after my earlier visit to Leeshaw, here the sun was still out and the temperature was holding at 4°C.  There were Pied Wagtails, a Grey Wagtail and a couple of Meadow Pipits in the overflow area.  A Grey Heron flew over and Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler were heard and seen, another Warbler didn't sound like either but looks like a Chiffchaff on the pictures I took.

Leeming Reservoir 9/4/2022

 Saturday 9th April a.m.

 Another frosty but sunny morning with a temperature of 4°C at Leeshaw where there were good counts of 20 Oystercatchers and 8 Redshanks.  Others were Curlew, Little Owl, Lapwing, Mipit, Canadas and Greylags.

 Friday 8th April a.m.

 A frosty start at the Coppice Pond with a temperature of -1°C where there were nine Mute Swans, ten Tufteds plus Mallards, Moorhens and Coots.  In the surrounding woodland four Chiffchaff were heard one of which was seen, others were Goldcrest, Goldfinch, Mistle Thrush, Redwing, Song Thrush, Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Robin and Treecreeper.

  On my way home I paid a quick visit to Harden Moor seeing more Chiffchaff, Linnet, Jay, Mipit, Reed Bunting and Song Thrush.

Redcar Tarn

 Saturday 2nd April a.m.

 A sunny morning with a temperature of 3°C, plenty large Gulls mainly Herring but also Lesser-black Backed Gulls with the smaller Black-headed Gulls and a few Commons.  The usual Canadas, Mallards, Coots and Tufteds were all present. Good to see a flyover from a Redshank, others were Curlew, Oystercatcher and Rook.
