Yeadon Tarn

Sunday 19th May a.m.
A bright start to the morning with a temperature of 11°C at Yeadon Tarn where there was a full complement of Hirundines made up of  8 Sand Martin, 4 House Martin and 10 Swallows plus 10 Swift.Warblers were present too with Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and Whitethroat and a Skylark was singing near the airport.Reed Bunting was also seen as were Great Crested Grebe, Mute Swan, Tufteds, and a pair of Canadas with five Goslings.

Harden Moor

Saturday 18th May a.m.
A dull overcast morning but mild with no wind and a temperature of 10°C, where the Sand Martins were busy and there was distant Oystercatcher and Red-legged Partridge. It was good to hear the Cuckoo again and this time managed to see it but I could only get a record shot through the trees.Plenty birds were up singing including Skylark, Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Bullfinch, Robin and Wren. Others seen were LBB Gull, Lapwing, Starling and Goldfinch.

Local Reservoir

Saturday 11th May a.m.
 After some early mist it brightened up with a temperature of 7°C and so I paid a visit to a reservoir that BOG members can use. Here I started off with three Wheatears and then Common Sandpipers, Grey Wagtail and Redshank. On the water were Greylags with two broods of goslings, at the top end of the reservoir there were c100 LBB Gulls with a number of  Herring Gulls.From the hide I got a good view of a Dunlin & Oystercatchers flew overhead, Curlews were also seen & heard.Others included Canadas, Tufteds, Mipits, RL Partridge, Swallow, Pied Wagtail and as I was leaving a Willow Warbler.

Monday 6th May a.m.
 A chilly morning but some sunny spells with a start temperature of 7°C, there were six Golden Plover in the usual field with Lapwings.The Reservoir had Canadas and Greylags which had one brood of goslings.A distant Goosander, Mallards and Grey Heron with visits from LBB Gulls.Plenty of Curlew a couple of Redshanks and eight Oystercatchers.

Cullingworth & Hewenden Reservoir

Sunday 5th May a.m.
 A chilly morning with some bright spells and a start temperature of 5°C as I made my way to Hewenden Reservoir where it was good to get my first Swift of the year.The water was quiet with just a Cormorant, Canadas and Mallards, a few Willow Warblers were seen but proved elusive when trying to get a decent picture.Good to see a GSW which was too quick for the camera, others seen were Swallow, Pied Wagtail, Pheasant, Mistle Thrush, Goldfinch and Bullfinch.
