Hornsea Mere

Saturday 19th September
A trip out to the East coast of Yorkshire starting off at Hornsea Mere where on arrival the sun was shining with a temperature of 15°C.There were good numbers of Canadas,Greylags,Coots & Mute Swans, others included BH Gull,Cormorant & Tufted Duck.We were delighted to catch up with the Little Gulls though on the jetty, they are a fabulous Gull that we only have seen at this location.
After a spot of lunch we moved further down the coast & a walk along the beach provided a Ringed Plover which let us get close enough for a few snaps.

Redcar Tarn

Sunday 13th September a.m.
A sunny morning with a temperature of 11°C on our arrival at Redcar Tarn where there were good numbers of the usual birds. Canadas & Lapwings were in a nearby field with Mallards,Tufted Ducks, Coots,Moorhen,BH Gulls & LBB Gulls on the water.Pied Wagtails made their usual appearance giving some good chances for a few snaps. One of the Coots had a leg number A3H, the Black-headed Gulls have moulted into their Winter plumage, most of the LBB Gulls were Juveniles & one of them we think was a second Summer bird. There was also a Muscovy Duck which was enjoying the sunshine & three Swallows were feeding overhead.
