Sunday 1st July a.m.
Another sunny start with a temperature of 13°C on Harden Moor where the first birds were
Swallows and a distant
Little Owl on top of a wall. The colony of
Sand Martins are doing well and it was good to see a single
Swift in the vicinity.A juvenile
Green Woodpecker was calling from a tree where I managed to spot it with the adult spotted in the distance and later I saw them together.A
Kestrel hovered quite close overhead, a few
Willow Warblers were seen as were several
Whitethroats some singing others looking after juveniles.

Kestrel over Harden Moor 1/7/2018 |
Cracking pics Nigel, the woodpeckers are beauties. Never done the Harden moor walk , I'll have to give it a try sometime.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave, I've had some good results on Harden Moor, you need to be prepared for disturbance from the many dog walkers who use the moor if you give it a go.
