Thursday 30th January p.m.
With the sun shining brightly and a temperature of 4°C I couldn't resist a walk on to Hewenden Reservoir seeing a Kestrel perched on a pole. There were c50 Canadas grazing with a dozen Moorhen and a single Wigeon. Also in the same area it was great to see my first Oystercatcher of the year, there were five Goldeneye and seven Tufteds on the water. There were over 20 Cormorants perched on the fallen trees in the water, c25 Lapwings flew over, others were BH Gull, Herring Gull, Pheasant, Robin & Wren.
