Leeming Reservoir

Sunday 10th February a.m.
A grey overcast morning with a temperature of 3°C at Leeming Reservoir when I arrived.I started off with a pair of Grey Wagtails, on the water and valve tower were BH Gulls plus Common,Herring and LBB. Also on the valve tower there were two Cormorants and also on the water good to see two Tufteds with the Mallards.Walking round the reservoir Blue Tit, Great Tit, Coal Tit and Robin were added among the other common species.

Cullingworth and Hewenden Reservoir

Sunday 3rd February a.m.
A cold morning in Cullingworth with a temperature of -3°C  with dry conditions but a chilly wind blowing.Walking was difficult with the lying snow in many places now turned to ice, the Reservoir was 50% covered in ice with c100 BH Gulls and the same number of Canadas. A mix of Commons and Herring Gulls too with two Mute Swans and twelve Tufteds.At the top end of the reservoir there were four Goldeneye,four Wigeon,four Goosanders and one Teal.Four Cormorants circled the reservoir before spending a short time in the water.

Hewenden Reservoir 3/2/2019

Park Dam

Saturday 2nd February a.m.
Still cold when I arrived at Park Dam with the temperature remaining at -1°C but brighter with the sun strengthening during my visit.The nearby field held 89 Canadas, the Lake had c100 BH Gulls, 20 Commons and three Herring Gulls.The ice covered 50% of the Lake which gave me a better view of the Little Grebes as they came closer,also a distant G.C.Grebe.I managed to pick out a Teal among the 37 Tufteds,2 Mute Swans (Red Tag 514Y), Coots and Moorhens.

Park Dam 2/2/2019

Harold Park

Saturday 2nd February a.m.
A cold morning with a temperature of -1°C when I arrived at Harold Park where it was brightening as the sun began to make it's presence felt.A great start as I set the camera up there were five Bramblings and the same number of Goldfinch in a tree opposite the entrance to the Park.I went into the park where the Lake was 90% covered in ice, but still c100 BH Gulls and a few Commons. Others were G.C. Grebe, Tufteds, Coots and Mallards and also good to see a Pied Wagtail. A walk round the Park added Dunnock,Blue Tits, one was checking out a nest box and a Robin.
