Saturday 14th June a.m.
A dull but mild start to the day with a temperature of 14.5°C on our arrival at Redcar Tarn. Here
the usual
Mallards,Canadas,Coots,Moorhen & LBB Gulls were all present.Only a couple of
BH Gulls
though but there was a Mute Swan, several Curlews were seen moving around the surrounding fields.
There was a group of 12 Lapwings flying in to a nearby field &
Skylarks were constantly singing through
out our visit.
Swallows were over the surrounding fields,
Swifts above the trees &
House & Sand Martins were hawking over the water.A good sighting for this location was a
Kestrel hovering over an adjacent
field don't see many of these at the Tarn. The
Pied Wagtails turned up towards the end of our visit, also
still present four male
Tufted Ducks & two
Muscovy.
Rooks & Jackdaws also made their usual appearance.
