Saturday 7th March a.m.
A dull start to the day with a strong blustery wind at Leeshaw Reservoir, the temperature was 6°C.
Good to see a count of twelve
Curlews in the same field as last week, still four
Oystercatchers present
& good numbers of
Canadas,Greylags & Lapwings.Others included
Little Owl in its usual spot,
Pied Wagtail & Meadow Pipit. We also saw a bird fly across the reservoir & down into the fields in the distance which we thought was a Redshank but we weren't sure so will have to let that one go.
We took a walk up the track to put some Nyger seed down in the spot recommended by BS on his West Yorkshire birding site. Hopefully it will attract some Twite which we were lucky enough to see at Fly Flatts in the past.
