Dowley Gap

Saturday 19th March a.m.
A dull start which kept the temperature down at 6°C on our arrival at Dowley Gap.We started off well with the distant drumming of a GSW, and some Redwings moving through the trees. It was fairly quiet along the canal with just a few Canadas,Greylags,Mallards & Jays in the nearby trees. At the water treatment area we saw the usual Pied & Grey Wagtails & near the aqueduct there was a Little Grebe in the River. As we went through the wood we saw Nuthatches & LT Tits, back at the River there was a couple of Goosanders & we saw a distant flash of blue as a Kingfisher flew across the River.
