Yeadon Tarn

Saturday 26th November a.m.
A bright sunny morning with some fog in the valley bottoms as I took Danny to Yeadon Tarn where the temperature was 0°C.In the trees near the car park there were a good number of Goldfinch, we then headed for the Tarn where there were Mallards,Coots,Moorhen,Mute Swans,GC Grebes,BH & Common Gulls. We walked round the Tarn which was still frozen after the overnight frost, parts of the footpath were also bottle ice so we had to be careful. As we walked we spotted a Pochard which was good to see, there were several House Sparrows which posed briefly for a picture.Near the model boats area we saw a Goosander and a first for us here a Wigeon, an enjoyable walk with some decent birds to see.
