Saturday 22nd April a.m.
A bright sunny morning with a temperature of 5°C at Leeshaw and feeling mild with no wind blowing.I could hear Oystercatchers and Redshanks pipping
Lapwings displaying and
Curlews passing by with their distinctive upland call. In all I saw four
Redshanks and four
Oystercatchers, there was a
Grey Heron prowling on the far bank and I saw my first
Common Sandpiper of the year making use of the small amount of shore showing at the waters edge on the far bank.A
Moorhen showed briefly next to a Lapwing and a pair of
LBB Gulls landed on the water, a
Wren was singing loudly and there was the usual
Cormorant, then the morning was rounded off with a
Little Owl on a fence post.
