Leighton Moss

Tuesday 16th April a.m.
A cloudy morning but I decided to have a run out to Leighton Moss an RSPB Reserve on the edge of Morcambe Bay where the temperature was 9°C on arrival. There were c 500 Black-tailed Godwits, c250 Redshank and I Counted 42 Avocets.A Great White Egret flew past with others here being Teal, Shelduck, Shoveler, Gadwall, Oystercatcher ,Wigeon and c350 BH Gulls.
There was a group of Wigeon in the distance which had a different looking bird which was a possible American but a Chiloe or hybrid were also possibilities.
On the otherside of the reserve Marsh Harrier, Great Black-backed Gull, Snipe, Pochard, Little Grebe, Blackcap,Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Nuthatch and Treecreeper were seen.
