Thursday 10th September a.m.
An early start this morning to try and beat the M62 traffic getting me to Swillington Ings where it started cloudy at 6°C, the sun soon came out though before clouding over again later in the morning. The stars of the visit were two Spoonbills which were close enough for some good pictures, there were also four Little Egrets seen. Overhead were Swifts, Sand Martins, House Martins and Swallows whilst on the mud their were a dozen Ringed Plover and half a dozen Dunlin. Plenty other birds around including Gt Crested Grebe, Little Grebe, Wheatear, Shoveler, Pochard,Teal, Gadwall, Reed Warbler, Reed Bunting, Kestrel and Lapwing.
