Sunday 4th October a.m.
A cloudy start but dry after yesterdays washout which meant I was able to go up to Redcar Tarn where the temperature was 9°C, later the sun came out for a while. The birding highlight here was a record count of 52 Goosanders which was great to see. There were also c50 BH Gulls, a couple of LBB Gulls, c100 Canadas, c50 Lapwings, Tufteds and Pied Wagtails. The Grey Heron was on the island and unusual for this site there was also a Cormorant and also two House Martins made a brief appearance.
