Saturday 13th February a.m.
A bitterly cold morning with a temperature of -4°C as I made my way across rock hard slippery ground round Hewenden Reservoir. A good walk and some exercise but not many birds were seen with nearly half the reservoir frozen over. There was a Cormorant, Canadas, a Goldeneye and Mallards, there were c200 Gulls on the ice mainly BH but a few each of Common, Herring and LBB Gulls.
