Sunday 30th January a.m.
A bright sunny morning with a temperature of -1°C when I arrived at Cromwell Bottom which is near Elland. A good start with a count of 12 Grey Herons making plenty of noise in their usual spot, a walk along the canal path produced a couple of Mute Swans and a pair of Goosanders. The Ski Lake had some Gulls and I also spotted a male Goldeneye, a Cormorant flew over as did nine Canadas, and in the distance a couple of Buzzards were gliding round. The walk to the bird feeding area added Mistle Thrush, LT Tit, Bullfinch, Great Tit, Blue Tit and Nuthatch. The bird feeding area was full of Robins, good to get a visit from a Jay as well as Reed Buntings, Chaffinch, Dunnock and others.
