Saturday 29th January a.m.
A cloudy morning with a strong blustery wind with a temperature of 12°C and a bit of rain to cope with. The wind kept most of the birds down and not many were seen by the water works apart from a dozen Magpies. Through the wood taking the path alongside the River Aire there were Mallards, Goosander and a couple of Cormorants in the River. In a nearby field there were Canadas, Greylags and a Curlew as well as c50 Jackdaws. A count of 18 Grey Herons were also in an adjacent field some of them lifting briefly to give an aerial show.
