Sunday 5th May a.m
A bright sunny morning with a start temperature of 11°C at Swillington where a good numbers of Bitterns were booming and I saw one take a short flight across the reserve. I saw six Black-necked Grebes and also Reed, Sedge and Willow Warblers. There were plenty other birds including Common Tern, Gadwall, Gt C. Grebe, Pochard, Shoveler, Lapwing, Oystercatcher and Reed Bunting.
