Friday 2nd May a.m.
A sunny start with a temperature of 10°C good numbers of Canadas & Greylags in the surrounding fields. A Grey Wagtail was near the overflow, a Cormorant was on the edge of the water, Lapwings & Oystercatcher were also seen. A male Wheatear posed for a picture and Meadow Pipits were moving around. I made a long climb up the track seeing a couple of Snipe & Lapwings with a couple of chicks, Curlews were moving around. Coming back down the steep track Mistle Thrush, Goldfinch, Swallow & House Martin were added and a Redshank flew on to a nearby wall. I walked back past the Reservoir and scanned the field with the Canadas & Greylags and spotted a head just above the grass, with it's short curved bill it looked right for Whimbrel. It was where they have been before, it eventually moved around before flying into another field.
