Cullingworth & Hewenden Reservoir

Saturday 30th November a.m.
A cold morning with a hard frost and a temperature of -2° as I headed towards Hewenden Viaduct, with the bonus of no rain. Not much seen on the way but there were plenty Gulls on the dam wall, Cormorants were in the water with two Mute Swans and four Tufteds. A walk to the top of the reservoir produced Wigeon,Teal, Little Grebe, Coots, Moorhen, Grey Heron and Canadas. On the way back a flock of birds had Blue, Great and LT Tits with a Goldcrest along for the ride. It was good to see my first Fieldfare of the Autumn a total of eight later flew off, a flock of c50 Lapwings were flying over a distant field, others included Treecreeper, Jay, Greenfinch and Goldfinch.
