Local walk

Friday 5th August a.m
This morning set off overcast as we went on an early morning walk, the temperature was
about 10°C. Above the houses in Cullingworth there were 16 House Martins feeding we
also saw the white-headed Blackbird make another appearance. On at Hewenden
Reservoir there were 8 Canadas and 9 BH Gulls showing as well as some Mallards. There
was a single Mute Swan which seems to have been here on its own most of the summer. A
Grey Heron was on the dam wall and nearer Hewenden there were 12 Swallows. The most
notable thing was that there were no Swift over Cullingworth or near their normal spot
around Hewenden viaduct, seems like they have gone for this year.
