Monday 6th April a.m.
We had to wait for the early morning fog to clear before we set off with the dog for a walk with the temperature 6°C & quickly rising as the sun broke through. We headed for the Great Northern Trail & on to Hewenden viaduct seeing common species along the way.At the viaduct a
Chaffinch landed briefly for a snap & some
Canadas were on the move, As we got to the other side we heard a
Chiffchaff & this time managed to spot it & get a record snap.Further along we saw the resident Peacock,
Pied Wagtail & a distant
Little Owl on top of a fence post.We went under the viaduct seeing a
Kestrel,Jackdaws & a LT Tit, at the side of the beck there was a
Grey Wagtail.
Heading towards Hallas Bridge more Chiffchaffs were heard & a few of them seen although out of range of the camera. We also saw a couple of
Nuthatch as we approached the bridge along with
Bullfinch.A great morning walk with the sun making it warmer as we went along.
