Stockbridge NR

Saturday 20th July a.m.
 A sunny start and feeling warm with a temperature of 18°C at the BOG members reserve at Stockbridge near Keighley. Here there was a good selection of birds with the highlights being, Blackcap, Reed Bunting, Grey Heron, Sparrowhawk and Oystercatcher.

Harden Moor

Wednesday 17th July a.m.
 A bright start with a temperature of 14° on Harden Moor where I started off with a Little Owl in its usual spot.The bird of the morning was Whitethroat, I saw at least ten across the Moor some of which were carrying food for young.There were several Willow Warblers and two each of Garden Warbler and Blackcap were seen and Goldfinch were flocking to the Thistle seeds.Overhead a Grey Heron, Swift, Swallow, House Martin and Lapwings were seen. Others were Kestrel, Linnet, Mistle Thrush, Meadow Pipit, Wren and plenty Butterflies.

Swillington Ings

Tuesday 16th July a.m.
 A drive over to Swillington Ings where the early cloud cover remained until mid morning with a start temperature of 13°C.There was a quick start with early sightings of Common Tern, Kingfisher, Little Egret, Oystercatcher and Grey Heron on my way to the Astley Lake.Here there was a good mix of birds and good numbers of Common Terns some with Juveniles, also Gadwall, Tufteds, Cormorant, Coot, Mute Swan, Gt C. Grebe, Goldfinch and a Swift overhead.
   Among the Reed Beds there were Reed Warbles, Reed Bunting, Linnet, Pochard, Canada, Greylag and very elusive Sedge Warblers that were determined not to have their picture taken.Others seen were Shelduck, BH Gull, Whitethroat, Lapwing and a Curlew flying over.

Denholme Clough to Doe Park Reservoir

Monday July 15th a.m.
 A bight sunny morning as with a temperature of 12°C as I made my way through the Clough seeing Goldfinch on the Thistles and a good number of Willow Warblers.At the Reservoir there were Canadas on the island that is showing, Sand Martins were overhead and a Kingfisher was sat on a rock at the edge of the water. Also in this area a Common Sandpiper, Oystercatcher and two Grey Wagtails, a Chiffchaff was singing as I made my way back through the Clough where three Whitethroats, Blackcap and Jay were seen.
 There were numerous Butterflies throughout the walk the ones I got pictures of were Small Heath, Meadow Brown and Small Tortoiseshell.
