Wednesday 7th September a.m.
I had another run out today going to Leighton Moss on the West coast near Morcambe Bay where I spent the morning in the Eric Morecambe and Allen hides. After a dull start the sun came out with a temperature starting at 20°C the conditions were good for taking some pictures, so of course I did. The dominant birds were waders these included
Avocet,Ruff, c100
Lapwing,c200
Redshank,c25
Snipe,35
Little Egret,Spotted Redshank, 10
Greenshank,Black-tailed Godwit and
Oystercatcher. There were high numbers of
Teal and
Wigeon also
Cormorant and
Grey Heron were present and I even had a
Kingfisher fly past, a great morning well worth the journey.N.P.
