Saturday 3rd September a.m.
A sunny start but soon clouding over up at Redcar Tarn with a temperature of 11°C as we saw many of the usual birds here.At the waters edge were a couple of
Lapwings these moved to join the rest of the c150 flock over the road.Amongst the
BH Gulls we spotted a different bird which we think is the Juvenile
Mediterranean Gull which has been seen here over the last week or so, a first for us if we're right.
House Martins and
Swallows were over the water and we picked up
Chaffinch,Dunnock and
Willow Warbler as we walked round.Over the road we also saw
Linnet and 3
Snipe flew round we managed a distant snap of one as it went to a small pond. There were 5
Muscovy Ducks which we haven't seen for a while and a couple of
Goldfinch were on the thistle seeds.

Right first time Nigel/Daniel. Thats the same bird.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian, always good to get confirmation of a bird we were unsure of, it stood out from the rest which is the easy bit but getting the ID of Juv Med Gull is certainly the much harder job.
