Hallas bridge & Goit Stock Wood

Tuesday 21st April a.m.
Another chilly morning with a temperature of 5°C but with the sun out again it was good walking conditions. Today I headed for Hallas Bridge and then went through Goit Stock Wood heading for Cow House Beck then came home via Bingley Road.
Nuthatches are usually quite vocal at this time of year so it wasn't long before I heard one and then was able to find it in the tree nearby. Also very vocal were several Chiffchaff which I could also see, in the wood  a couple of Goldcrest worked their way past me on the ground and on low branches, unfortunately the camera would not focus on them before they moved in the poor light. I saw one later on a distant tree which I was able to get a record of.
There were several Linnets above the tree line and a Grey Heron was in a field which soon flew as I approached on the path as did a Song Thrush. Others seen were LT Tit, Willow Warbler, Robin, Goldfinch, Pheasant, Swallow and Curlew.
