Saturday 4th April a.m.
A chilly morning with a temperature of 5°C, the early morning sun soon turned into cloud cover with the wind strengthening. A walk round Harden Moor was good exercise seeing a few birds along the way with
Chiffchaff, Green Woodpecker, Mipit, Skylarks, Dunnock, Jay, Bullfinch, Wren and
Robin getting the ball rolling. Soon followed by a
Curlew flying over as well as a
Grey Heron, there were a few
Pied Wagtails and
Goldfinch, a
Song Thrush was belting out a tune and in the distance
Lapwings were displaying.
The highlight for me though was a pair of
Stonechats which were close enough for a couple of pictures, not had these at this site before.
